“My poems tell the story of dreams. We have the beauty of traveling into them to give us belief, hope and life…With our dreams we can soar to our goals in life…awakening our heart to feel with each stance a glimmer of beauty of the heart…”
Deborah Shepard, born in Carmel, California, with a delightful family, a husband that was in the military for 25 years and their son. “I am a teacher and a writer, my background is French, English and Native American Cherokee.”
Shepard attended high school in Carmel, and attended a few years in Germany for grade school. Shepard is currently enrolled in bates college for Para educators and Clover Park College. “I have the child development degree with early childhood and working on special education endorsers. I work with many sites on the web, such as Character Counts for Fort Lewis. I am currently an Educational Specialist and I teach school age and preschool children.”
Having been writing since she was attending grade school, and having ideal writers such as Elizabeth Barrot Browning, Shakespeare, Helen Rice, Keats, and multiple poets at Starlit Café, and her favorite Edgar Allen Poe, “his poetry enriched my life.”
“Clearly Helen Keller summed it up in saying ‘beauty is not seen but felt within,’ that is what I teach as an educator for Fort Lewis Beach Wood School Age Center.” Shepard recently published an inspirational book titled “The Pages Of Time.” It is about fairies, romance, angels, inspiration and character of ones self. “It’s about life’s character, the beauty of fairies and angels compassion to the heart strings. My poems tell the story of dreams. We have the beauty of traveling into them to give us belief, hope and life. In our world today life is filled with so many trials and tribulations but with hope; like a little girl to travel into fantasy and relieve ourselves for just a moment. With our dreams we can soar to our goals in life, with our inner child as they grow, awakening our heart to feel with each stance. A glimmer of beauty of the heart, soul, and spiritual awakening for the poems give them life.”
Although Deborah Shepard has currently published a book she wishes to write about “romance dedications to the soul, about my families.” She would like to put away the profits she makes from her books to help her family. She writes about dreams and angels, she has angels that bless her each day and dreams of her own. Her dream is “to share dreams with others, share the gifts. I currently have the Poetry 4 Club at Fort Lewis. It helps the children to know it is real, that you can reach your dreams. To go to the beach and live someday by waters.

POETRY
Convert Thine Soul by Deborah Shepard
Eros path laid as he approached the Celtic ruins
Shelter his eyes from her drawn lips, an angel in sight
Eros gentle walk to her arms again, asking forgiveness
Lasting momentum, in her sweet lips
Asking for life’s mortality–Aphrodite
Eros clasp the ring finger, softly amour
Feathered cap he wore soft demure
He carried her to his side, what shall he see?
Lost she was in his eyes, alone
In pure ecstasy–
Asking for life’s mortality–Aphrodite
Eros gentle danced with bewitchment in her feathered arms
With each wing he etched slowly, to his barren heart
With moonlight gentle fall, to her lasting day
She changed to angels plea, to be mortal again
Aspired wings to start
The kiss who shall embrace the sun she cries out , he covert thine heart and she is solace, with his wrapped arms would he know her in dreams?
