Gene Marie: Poetry
Regression
I hope the time comes when
you can pull yourself together
and all the things around me
Will soon just leave my life empty
I want to be me now
I want to be free now
I am on my knees and I am praying
That I will change.
My sins forgiven.
My dreams fulfilled. My heart living.
I hope you heard me when I swore,
because that was the first time I swore on my life instead of yours.

Flicker
You have a unique gift my mind continues to try to understand
Yet your heart runs wild I know that it is true.
I spend my life flowing through all my hope for you.
If I thought that I loved someone who
Would not help return me to, this flame would never flicker.
You are the Pleasantries of a soft October day.
Your expression empowers my brush with energy to create.
The glaze of hope in your eyes entices the universe,
Each for us with the need to go through the day,
And wait for the minute to reverse.
The sound of your voice leads me to drown…
The vision of your smile is stain glass art.
Delicately created, carefully, colored and designed.
Some may find it tedious to watch one each day.
But it is how I survive and live through every day.
From this I teach you the music will rise and fall
Have your heart read each note and you shall know them all.
Always fighting leaving your dreams of Arts Romance,
For a sober retreat of empty existence.

May I Envision by Gene Marie
I close my eyes
To envision where I want to be
Because where I am cannot be real.
My dreams never come
My hope diminishes.
My tears are limitless.
My hate grows stronger.
I scream as I try to hold my peace of mind.
My soul
My heart
I scream as I try to hold myself together.
As I try to hold my world together.

Floating On Lies
A bare cheek
The emotion on fire
This fever I wish
My heart will devour
Sweet thoughts whispered
Delicate passion
Sudden dreams
Powerful lies
